Assistant Project Manager

About the role

Wilson Construction Co. is seeking a self‑motivated Assistant Project Manager to support utility distribution construction projects in the Western United States. This entry‑level position splits time between project field offices and the company headquarters in Canby, Oregon, with travel to various sites as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Schedulers with administrative tasks and daily status updates.
• Prepare three‑ and five‑day look‑ahead schedules and generate RFIs, transmittals, and submittals.
• Schedule materials, track deliveries, and help approve material invoices.
• Track and report equipment and vehicle usage in right‑of‑way areas.
• Maintain spreadsheets and provide overall project support across departments.
• Deliver paperwork and perform errands as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills, including deadline coordination and multitasking.
• Self‑motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Microsoft Project (preferred).
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 (preferred).
