Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Central Texas invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, starting Fall 2027. The position supports undergraduate and graduate programs in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security within a collaborative, interdisciplinary department.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Develop and assess curriculum for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Maintain an active research agenda appropriate to a regional comprehensive university.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities.

Required profile

• Earned Ph.D. by the start date in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Homeland Security, Security Studies, Emergency Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice and to contribute to graduate instruction in Homeland Security.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity or a clear plan for developing a research program.
