Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery, Plastics

About the role

The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine seeks a highly qualified plastic surgeon to join its rapidly growing academic program. The successful candidate will work with a team of more than ten surgeons across three major health systems, providing comprehensive clinical care and contributing to education and research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outstanding clinical care in plastic surgery, including breast reconstruction, microvascular and lymphatic reconstruction, and the full scope of general plastic surgery.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and hands‑on training.
• Conduct original research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Participate in departmental committees, strategic planning, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Engage with the local community to raise awareness about plastic surgery and promote health and wellness.

Required profile

• MD, DO, or PhD with board eligibility or certification in plastic surgery (ABPS).
• Valid DEA registration and Florida medical license.
• 0–10 years of post‑training clinical experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Commitment to patient care, education, and scholarly activity.
