Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics – Infectious Diseases

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics specializing in Infectious Diseases. The faculty member will provide expert care for pediatric patients, lead research initiatives, and oversee the pediatric antibiotic stewardship program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and outpatient care for patients referred to the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
• Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Mentor quality‑assurance and research projects.
• Share on‑call duties with division faculty.
• Conduct basic, translational, and clinical research leading to publications and grant submissions.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑transplant evaluations and consultations for pediatric transplant patients.
• Serve as Associate Director of the Pediatric Antibiotic Stewardship Program and represent the Pediatric Infection Control Program.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
• Demonstrated research proficiency with a record of success.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Transplant Infectious Disease.
• Experience in infection control and antibiotic stewardship programs.
• Proven ability to teach medical students and housestaff.
• Valid Florida medical license and DEA license.
