Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Hematology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology. This full‑time faculty position combines patient care, clinical research, and teaching within the Department of Medicine and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient hematology services at Sylvester’s main campus, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
• Design, conduct, and supervise clinical and translational trials focused on classical hematology.
• Serve as principal investigator or co‑investigator on grant‑funded studies and expand the clinical trial portfolio.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at departmental grand rounds.
• Generate sufficient external funding to support professional practice and departmental goals.
• Participate in academic meetings, teaching activities, and multidisciplinary team collaborations.

Required profile

• MD with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Eligibility for a Florida medical license.
• Proven record of excellence in patient care and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Experience leading or participating in clinical trials.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
