Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology – Pediatrics

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatrics. This full‑time faculty position combines clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity in a leading academic medical center.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pediatric anesthesia for newborns, children, adolescents and adults, including transplant cases.
• Supervise and mentor residents, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs).
• Participate in departmental teaching activities, conferences and faculty meetings.
• Provide on‑call coverage (3‑4 beeper calls per month, with occasional evening or weekend calls).
• Contribute to research initiatives and pursue extramural grant funding as desired.

Required profile

• US‑approved residency in Anesthesiology.
• Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology (or equivalent).
• Ability to manage a wide range of cases from newborn to adult.
• Comfort with independent practice and supervision responsibilities.
