Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology – Neuro‑Anesthesia

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology with a focus on Neuro‑Anesthesia. The faculty member will provide high‑quality peri‑operative care for neurosurgical and neuro‑interventional patients across University Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Ryder Trauma Center.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical anesthesia services for elective and emergency neuro‑surgical cases.
• Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, CRNAs and SRNAs in the operating room.
• Participate in departmental teaching activities, including lectures, bedside instruction and trainee evaluations.
• Engage in academic research and contribute to basic or clinical studies in neuro‑anesthesia.
• Collaborate with neurosurgery, orthopedics and other multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Required profile

• US‑approved residency in Anesthesiology.
• At least one year of fellowship training in Neuro‑Anesthesia or equivalent experience.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology (or case‑by‑case equivalent).
• Commitment to clinical excellence, education and scholarly activity.

Required skills

• Expertise in anesthetic management of neuro‑surgical patients.
• Ability to independently perform complex anesthesia cases.
• Proficiency in supervising trainees and delivering medical education.
