About the role
The University of Miami seeks an Assistant Professor on the tenure‑earning track to advance research and education in biochemistry and nephrology. The role involves leading innovative studies, mentoring students, and collaborating across disciplines to improve kidney health.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on kidney disease mechanisms and therapeutic interventions.
- Develop and implement research methodologies, analyze data, and publish findings.
- Secure external grant funding and manage research budgets.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biochemistry, nephrology, and research methods.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research projects.
- Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and external partners to promote interdisciplinary research.
- Engage in community outreach and partnerships to translate research into public health impact.
Required profile
- PhD in Biochemistry, Nephrology, or a related field.
- Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals.
- Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding.
- Experience managing research projects.
