Assistant Professor of Anatomy (Clinical Track)

About the role

The Anatomy Assistant Professor (Clinical track) joins the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine to teach gross and micro‑anatomy to first‑year veterinary students. The role includes lecture delivery, laboratory instruction, scholarly activity, and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lecture and laboratory anatomy courses (60% of effort) to first‑year veterinary students.
• Prepare teaching materials, perform prosections, embalming, and maintain the specimen collection (25% of effort).
• Mentor professional and graduate students and provide departmental, school, and university service (10% of effort).
• Conduct scholarly activities such as research and publications (5% of effort).

Required profile

• Minimum requirement: DVM or equivalent (Ph.D. candidates encouraged to apply).
• Preferred qualification: Ph.D. and at least 1 year of teaching experience in gross anatomy laboratory/lecture settings.
• Special and physical qualifications include safety‑sensitive job requirements, FERPA responsibilities, and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb.
