Assistant Professor – Cancer Survivorship & Population Sciences

About the role

The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies, in partnership with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to advance research in cancer survivorship and population health. The candidate will join a collaborative initiative that bridges nursing science and cancer control.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research program focused on cancer survivorship, aging, or related population science topics.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the cancer center and nursing school on projects involving symptom measurement, patient‑reported outcomes, and value‑based care models.
• Secure external funding, publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals, and present at national conferences.
• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in nursing, public health, or related fields.
• Mentor students and junior faculty, contributing to a supportive academic environment.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent in nursing, public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in cancer survivorship, population health, or a complementary area such as aging or health disparities.
• Strong record of scholarly productivity and potential for external grant acquisition.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and inclusive research practices.
