About the role

The Surgical ICU at Indian River Hospital seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to support night‑shift operations, ensure high‑quality patient care, and foster professional development among caregivers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations during night shifts.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments.
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and resolve operational issues.
• Conduct clinical evaluations, address performance concerns, and monitor attendance.
• Interview, select, orient, and schedule new caregivers to ensure adequate coverage.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, research initiatives, and in‑service education.
• Assume full Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a BSN.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ICU setting.
