Assistant Nurse Manager – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily clinical operations of the M60 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, a 15‑bed Level 4 specialty unit. Working night shifts, this leader ensures safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care and steps in as manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments regarding patient care.
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers and ensure continuity of care between shifts.
• Review major operational patient‑care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provide clinical evaluations of nurses and other care providers; counsel on performance and administer corrective actions.
• Supervise daily delivery of patient care, prepare work schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, outcome studies, research initiatives and departmental committees.
• Assist in orienting new personnel and delivering continuing education and in‑service programs.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a BSN.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification required for critical‑care areas.
• At least two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, analytical and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if working in critical‑care area).
