Assistant Nurse Manager, Med-Surg Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Denver is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Med-Surg unit on nights. The role leads the unit's nurses in delivering patient care, manages performance and quality improvement, and mentors staff. The schedule is full-time, night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans for venous access and infusion therapy.
• Administer and monitor infusion therapy treatments, adjusting care plans based on patient response.
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and implement improvement plans.
• Identify training needs, organize educational programs and mentor staff; resolve conflicts and mediate disputes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and improving patient care and operational efficiency.
• Mentor and precept new staff, communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of charge nurse or relevant leadership experience preferred.
• 1+ years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

• Leadership of a unit and ability to lead performance improvement initiatives.
• Critical thinking and ability to manage the business of healthcare delivery, including productivity and financial practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and basic computer skills, including an electronic health record.
• Unit-specific competencies as outlined in the job description.
