Assistant Nurse Manager, Med Surg

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager for its Med Surg unit in Parker, Colorado. The role covers venous access and infusion therapy, supervising nursing staff, leading quality improvement and mentoring new staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans for venous access and infusion therapy.
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and implement improvement plans.
• Mentor and precept new staff, resolve conflicts and foster professional growth.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and improving patient care and operational efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team, and comply with regulatory and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state.
• Minimum of 1 year of charge nurse or relevant leadership experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including experience with an electronic health record.
• Leadership, critical thinking and ability to manage the business of healthcare delivery on the unit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
