Assistant Nurse Manager, ICU Nights

About the role

AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Intensive Care Unit nights shift. The role leads the unit's nursing staff in delivering patient care, improving quality and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and set improvement plans
• Mentor and precept new staff, identify training needs and organize educational programs
• Resolve staff conflicts through mediation and foster team cohesion
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analysing data and improving patient care and efficiency
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policies

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
• 1+ years as charge nurse or relevant leadership experience preferred
• 1+ years of acute care nursing experience preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state

• Excellent clinical practice knowledge and broad nursing knowledge
• Ability to lead staff, performance improvement and business aspects of the unit
• Critical thinking and independent decision-making
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including an electronic health record
