Assistant Golf Coach (Men/Women)

About the role

The Assistant Golf Coach supports the Head Golf Coach in managing both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Prairie View A&M University, ensuring competitive performance and academic success of student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, conducting, and supervising practices, matches, and team travel.
• Help manage budget items such as equipment, uniforms, and travel logistics.
• Support recruiting and scouting activities in line with NCAA and SWAC guidelines.
• Coordinate scheduling of nationally competitive opponents.
• Oversee study‑hall requirements during away games and monitor academic progress.
• Ensure compliance with athletic regulations and participate in community fundraising and public relations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of related experience in collegiate golf coaching or administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work with student‑athletes and adhere to NCAA rules.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong multitasking, written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
