Assistant General Manager - Restaurant

About the role

W&M Restaurants is hiring an Assistant Restaurant General Manager for its Taco Bell location in Decatur, Illinois. The role combines people development, business operations and customer satisfaction, with a focus on building a strong team and running the restaurant efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• People development (50%): recruit Team Members and Shift Managers, run onboarding within 3 days, design 90- and 180-day training plans, hold monthly one-on-ones, schedule with Shift Leads, coach Shift Leads, recognize achievements, resolve concerns and conduct annual reviews.
• Business operations (30%): help manage costs, train staff on food safety, sanitation and brand quality, oversee food production, audit inventory, handle banking, accounting, labor and HR paperwork, and communicate with the home office.
• Customer satisfaction (20%): deliver outstanding service, resolve guest concerns empathetically and promote the brand through community events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, college degree or equivalent; Taco Bell or industry experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience in food service or retail, including profit and loss responsibility.
• Reliable transportation, dependability and punctuality, and ability to do basic business math.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs, push or pull up to 20 lbs, and stand, walk, bend and twist for 90% of a shift.
