Assistant General Manager – High‑Volume Restaurant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of Le Suprême, a Parisian‑inspired brasserie in Detroit’s historic Book Tower. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading the front‑of‑house team, and maintaining high operational standards in a high‑volume, upscale environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to manage all aspects of daily restaurant operations.
• Serve as a visible, hands‑on leader on the floor, setting the tone for hospitality and professionalism.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop front‑of‑house staff and managers.
• Lead pre‑shift meetings and ongoing service education.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and identify growth opportunities for team members.
• Maintain strong presence on the floor, engage with guests, anticipate needs, and resolve concerns promptly.
• Support opening, closing, and daily operating procedures, ensuring dining, bar, and service areas meet the highest standards.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership to ensure seamless communication and service execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a high‑volume, upscale restaurant.
• Strong team‑building and coaching abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
