About the role
The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Financial Aid advises and counsels undergraduate students and families on financial aid options, oversees award processing, and supports the Student Financial Services team at Northeastern University.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with design and implementation of undergraduate aid policies, integrating federal regulations and university guidelines.
- Supervise and develop financial aid counselors, handling personnel functions, training, and performance monitoring.
- Counsel students and parents on aid processes, award options, and billing procedures while monitoring satisfactory academic progress.
- Review applications, perform need analyses, verify information, and evaluate appeals in accordance with Title IV and institutional policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Progressive experience in higher‑education financial aid administration with managerial and budgetary responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective written, oral, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with PowerFAIDS.
- Knowledge of Title IV federal regulations and state financial aid rules.
