Assistant Director of Student Engagement, Enrollment Management & Retention

About the role

The Assistant Director supports the Director of Student Engagement, Enrollment Management, and Retention in driving undergraduate enrollment, engagement, and retention within the College of Engineering. This role oversees the Tutoring Center, student staff programs, and enrollment events.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the College of Engineering Tutoring Center, including scheduling tutoring sessions and review workshops.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Tutors, Scheduling Coordinators, Front‑Desk staff, and COE Ambassadors.
• Implement and analyze first‑year surveys to inform curriculum and support services.
• Prepare data reports on department initiatives and student success metrics.
• Provide logistical and operational support for enrollment, engagement, and student activities events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in higher‑education student affairs or services.
• Strong program and people management abilities, with a focus on student experience and belonging.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience managing tutoring or academic support programs.
• Proficiency in data tracking and reporting.
• Ability to recruit, train, and coach student staff.
