About the role
The John Martinson Honors Program seeks an Assistant Director to lead Honors Living‑Learning Community initiatives, co‑curricular programming, and provide developmental advising to a vibrant community of approximately 3,000 academically gifted students.
Key responsibilities
- Select, train, and supervise 16 upper‑class Honors Living Learning Assistants and coordinate with faculty and staff to design high‑quality learning experiences.
- Plan and implement annual LLC events such as Fall and Spring Launch, PAWS Points Initiative, and LLC Showcase.
- Recruit, train, and supervise 8‑12 student leaders for upper‑class engagement initiatives like the Honors Events Council.
- Coordinate student‑led learning initiatives (e.g., HEIST) and design assessment instruments to track outcomes.
- Provide limited developmental advising, support Associate Directors in assessment, and collaborate with campus and community partners on program vision.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in higher education or a related field.
- At least two years of higher‑education work experience, preferably with advising and residential life.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively.
Required skills
- Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
