Assistant Director of Finance – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance will lead the financial function of a luxury hotel in New Orleans, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and profitability. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role supports the hotel’s operational teams and safeguards owner assets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and timely general ledger reconciliations.
• Record daily hotel revenues, maintain the Income Journal, and monitor variances to budget and prior year.
• Manage cash flow, operating forecasts, and bank reconciliations.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, ensuring compliance with Highgate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with department heads to keep operations on track and address financial issues.
• Oversee receivables, payables, daily cash balances, and timely fund deposits.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in hotel or hospitality finance.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on profitability and cost control.
• Ability to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and maintain internal controls.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with department heads and senior management.
