About the role
The University of Arkansas seeks an Assistant Director to lead digital communications and marketing automation initiatives. This senior‑level position will shape the university’s online presence, drive engagement across audiences, and ensure the effective use of automation tools to support recruitment, branding, and outreach.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital communication strategies across web, email, social media, and emerging platforms.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of marketing automation workflows.
- Collaborate with academic units, admissions, and external partners to align messaging with institutional goals.
- Analyze performance metrics, generate reports, and refine campaigns based on data insights.
- Manage a small team of communications specialists and coordinate with external vendors.
Required profile
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in digital communications and marketing automation within a higher‑education or large‑organization setting.
- Strong project‑management skills and ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Required skills
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Eloqua).
- Proficiency in email marketing, SEO/SEM, and social media management tools.
- Data analysis and reporting using analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
