Assistant Director of Development

About the role

The Assistant Director of Development supports Cleveland Clinic’s fundraising priorities by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects. Key responsibilities

• Identify individual major‑gift prospects and secure visits through cold calls and other contacts.
• Develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for each prospective donor.
• Manage the development cycle from qualification to stewardship, meeting monthly and yearly fundraising metrics.
• Coordinate donor interests with organizational priorities and prepare funding proposals.
• Prepare stewardship reports and assist with department projects, events, and programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree may offset experience.
• Minimum three years of fundraising or face‑to‑face solicitation experience, preferably with major gifts.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate executives, donors, and staff physicians.
• Working knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies preferred.
