About the role
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Miami seeks an Assistant Director to support program development, student organizations, and community engagement. Reporting to the Director, the role contributes to creating an inclusive campus environment where multicultural students thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Director in building positive relationships with university and external community partners.
- Collaborate with academic units and student affairs to design, implement, and assess programs for multicultural students.
- Develop innovative workshops, dialogues, and training for student leaders and staff.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and analyze utilization data.
- Serve as primary advisor to 12 student organizations, co‑advise additional groups, and maintain records and mentorship.
- Provide guidance to students facing academic or personal challenges and connect them to university resources.
- Coordinate cultural celebration events and related services.
Required profile
- Strong ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships across campus and community.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and assessment.
- Capacity to mentor student leaders and support student organizations.
- Effective communication and counseling skills for diverse student populations.
Required skills
What we offer
- Base salary range $55,000‑$60,000, commensurate with experience.
