Assistant Director for Prevention Education, Health Promotion & Wellbeing

About the role

The Assistant Director for Prevention Education, Health Promotion & Wellbeing supports Georgetown University’s Health Education Services Office in building a culture of community care and well‑being for students across both campuses. This position leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion programs and oversees key peer‑education and wellbeing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement evidence‑informed health promotion curricula covering topics such as alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, mental health, and interpersonal violence.
• Manage the peer education program, including curriculum development, facilitator training, and related programming.
• Co‑lead the mandatory bystander intervention program for incoming undergraduate students.
• Administer online education courses for new undergraduate and graduate students on sexual violence prevention, mental well‑being, and substance use.
• Oversee the new Wellbeing Space in Healy G, ensuring its effective use and programming.
• Establish and coordinate health promotion initiatives on the Capitol Campus.
• Serve as liaison with university departments, campus and community partners, and student organizations.
• Supervise the Wellbeing and Health Promotion Specialist, Wellbeing Student Program Assistants, and a graduate assistant.
