Assistant Controller – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The Assistant Controller will support the federal team at the Navy Systems plant in York, PA, handling the general ledger, financial reporting, and audit support in accordance with GAAP and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall responsibility for the General Ledger, including journal entries and sub‑ledger reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and generate financial reports.
• Prepare and analyze trial balances, free cash‑flow, annual plans and quarterly forecasts with variance analysis.
• Support CAS audits, annual cost submittals and quarterly tax reporting.
• Provide guidance on GAAP, FAR and CAS compliance and develop related procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
• 5‑7 years of financial experience in a manufacturing or government‑contracting environment.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with finance‑related IT systems.
