Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball

About the role

The Assistant Coach supports the varsity women’s basketball program at Northeastern University, reporting directly to the Head Coach. This position involves practice planning, game‑day decision making, player development, and recruiting across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with practice design, game‑day decisions, and development of training drills.
• Scout opponents and provide analytical reports to aid competitive preparation.
• Identify, evaluate, and cultivate prospective student‑athletes while complying with Conference and NCAA regulations.
• Attend departmental meetings, programs, clinics, and assist with fundraising efforts as needed.
• Perform administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach, including budgeting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–3 years of coaching experience, preferably at a Division I program.
• Collegiate playing experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA/Conference regulations.
• Strong communication and management skills.
• Availability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
