Assistant Clinical Manager (RN) - Progressive Care

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time, day-shift Assistant Clinical Manager (RN) for its progressive care unit. The role coordinates the operations of the patient care area for the shift and manages patient flow, applying nursing process and evidence-based practice to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate and modify patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assign patients to RNs, C.N.A.s, nurse externs and other team members, and prepare care or geographic assignments using Relationship-Based Care
• Determine assignments independently based on nurse competencies, patient characteristics, location and anticipated admissions and discharges
• Take part in hiring, performance reviews and disciplinary processes for team members on the unit
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, and provide care collaboratively with other disciplines
• Lead the interdisciplinary team, encourage staff decision-making and model current leadership techniques
• Monitor the effectiveness of information shared with staff, enforce hospital policies and serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees as requested

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Florida; BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Nursing knowledge of health care delivery systems, the nursing process and case coordination, plus familiarity with hospital information systems and patient care applications
• Ability to lead teams, solve problems, communicate clearly and work under pressure
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 lbs and carrying up to 20 lbs, and working long hours sitting

Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of professional licenses are required.
