Assistant Clinical Manager - CVICU (Full Time, Nights)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring an Assistant Clinical Manager for its CVICU. The role coordinates the operations of the patient care area for the shift and manages patient flow, applying nursing process and evidence-based practice to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate patient care. It is a full-time night-shift position.

Key responsibilities

• Assign patients to RNs, C.N.A.s, Nurse Externs and other team members, and prepare assignments using Relationship Based Care, considering the total patient load
• Determine assignments independently on nurse competencies, patient characteristics, location, and anticipated admissions and discharges
• Take part in hiring, performance reviews and disciplinary processes for team members on the unit
• Ensure quality outcomes and practice in line with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies, taking part in quality assurance and performance improvement
• Lead the interdisciplinary team and encourage staff decision-making, while enforcing hospital and personnel policies
• Serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams and work groups as requested, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Recent graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• 2 years of recent CVICU or post-open heart experience
• Current Florida RN licensure
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association; NIHSS training available through other providers
• CCRN preferred
• Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs, work long periods sitting, standing, stooping and walking, and work in a stressful environment

Required skills

• Familiarity with health care delivery systems, nursing process and case coordination
• Knowledge of hospital information systems and patient care applications
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and leadership, problem-solving and clear verbal and written communication
