Assistant Attorney General – Organized Retail Crime

About the role

The Assistant Attorney General will lead prosecutions of organized retail crime throughout Georgia, handling cases from investigation through trial.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct investigations, draft indictments, file and litigate motions, examine witnesses, and serve as lead counsel at trial.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with retailers and coordinate training for law enforcement and related agencies.
  • Supervise and train prosecutors, investigators, and administrative staff in the Organized Retail Crime unit.
  • Collaborate with local, federal, and other state sections on overlapping cases such as white‑collar crime, human trafficking, and gangs.

Required profile

  • Graduation from an accredited law school.
  • Member of the Georgia Bar in good standing, typically with three or more years of relevant experience.

Required skills

  • Litigation and prosecution experience, preferably five years or more.
  • Experience prosecuting theft or cyber crimes, at least two years preferred.
