Assembly Technician

About the role

Join Dematic’s growing manufacturing team in Grand Rapids to assemble electrical harnesses and panels for automation equipment. You will work from detailed drawings and schematics, using a variety of tools to build and wire vehicle assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Follow detailed drawings, bills of materials, and wiring schematics to complete vehicle assembly tasks.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and manual labor to assemble electrical harnesses and panel wiring.
• Update engineering drawings and work instructions as needed during the build process.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience assembling electrical harnesses or panel wiring in an industrial/automation setting.
• Proficiency with basic math and measuring tools.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand, bend, and lift up to 20 lb regularly.
• Team‑oriented communication with sub‑assembly technicians and supervisors.

Required skills

• Use of hand, power and air tools (drill, rivet gun, soldering iron).
• Operation of wire crimping/stripping machines.
• Forklift operation (or willingness to obtain a license).
