Art Teacher for Grades 6-12 – Immediate Start

About the role

Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking a full‑time Art Teacher for grades 6‑12 for the 2026‑2027 school year. The position starts immediately and involves delivering rigorous, standards‑aligned visual arts instruction while fostering creativity and self‑expression.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality Tier I visual arts instruction using evidence‑based strategies and a variety of mediums (drawing, painting, mixed media).
• Monitor student understanding, adjust instruction in real time, and use assessment data to drive instruction.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment, manage equipment, and enforce safety procedures.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams, implement IEPs/BIPs, and participate in PLCs, data meetings, and school‑wide initiatives.
• Communicate proactively with families and dedicate one afternoon per week to after‑school tutoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Art, Fine Arts, Art Education or related field preferred) and content‑area certification preferred.
• Demonstrated record of measurable student achievement and growth.
• Strong command of Tier I instructional practices and ability to analyze data for instructional decisions.
• Commitment to high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Ability to work with multiple artistic mediums and manage classroom workflow effectively.
