Theatre Teacher for Middle & High School (2026-27)

About the role

Jefferson RISE Charter School seeks a dedicated Theatre Teacher for grades 6‑12 for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned theatre instruction that fosters creativity, performance skills, and self‑expression.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality Tier I theatre instruction, including acting technique, script analysis, improvisation, and stage production.
• Assess student progress, differentiate instruction, and give specific feedback tied to learning targets.
• Maintain a safe classroom and stage environment, managing equipment and props.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams, support IEPs/BIPs, and participate in PLCs and data meetings.
• Communicate regularly with families and dedicate one afternoon per week to after‑school tutoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Theatre, Drama, Performing Arts or related field); certification preferred.
• Demonstrated record of student achievement and growth.
• Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Commitment to high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
