About the role

Jefferson Rise Charter School is seeking reliable on‑call substitute teachers for the 2026‑2027 school year. You will provide classroom coverage for staff absences, following lesson plans and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow teacher‑provided lesson plans and keep students engaged.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
• Take accurate attendance, manage classroom materials, and communicate relevant information to staff.
• Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and unexpected situations.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills; reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Flexibility to work across various grades and subjects with limited preparation time.
• Willingness to accept feedback and continuously learn.

What we offer

• Hourly pay for assignments worked, with a daily rate of $180‑$220.
• Payments made twice monthly on the 15th and last day of each month.
• Flexible, as‑needed schedule with assignments typically 24‑48 hours in advance.
