Area Chief Engineer

About the role

Larkspur Landing Pleasanton, an HHM hotel, is hiring an Area Chief Engineer in Pleasanton, CA. The role manages maintenance functions and engineering staff across several hotels so that hotel structures meet established brand, guest service and sustainability standards. The advertised pay is $60,000 to $80,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand standards and core values.
• Manage bids, quotes and contracts for third-party vendors, and oversee in-house maintenance projects or PIPS.
• Conduct room inspections, identify repair needs and keep accurate records of preventive maintenance on rooms and equipment.
• Perform hands-on work such as installing or repairing drywall and wall coverings, painting, basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures, televisions, minor plumbing, and heating and cooling pumps.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment and maintain life safety systems.
• Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal, refurbish furniture and fixtures, and follow local, state and federal codes.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the HHM EarthView program, keep repair and preventive maintenance records, and coordinate compliance of service contracts.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and follow safe work habits, including MSDS and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous engineer or maintenance experience in a hotel setting strongly desired.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, climb and work on holidays, weekends or alternate shifts.
