Aquatics Deck Manager

About the role

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Deck Manager oversees deck operations, ensures patron safety, enforces pool rules, and activates emergency protocols as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate lifeguard schedules, breaks, and rotations.
• Manage swim lesson activities, direct parents and participants, and supervise program quality and safety.
• Enforce pool policies, handle issues professionally, and conduct safety drills.
• Test pool chemicals regularly to meet state codes.
• Respond to emergencies, perform rescues, and provide CPR, First Aid, and emergency oxygen.
• Complete incident reports promptly and maintain a clean, safe pool environment.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age.
• Physically able to scan the pool, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand or sit for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in moderate to high noise levels and flexible shift schedule including mornings, nights, and weekends.

Required skills

• Professional Lifeguard certification.
• CPR, First Aid, and O₂ certification.
• YMCA Lifeguarding and Lifeguard Supervisor training.
• Child Abuse Prevention and Workplace Respect training.
