APRN - Pulmonary

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring an APRN Pulmonary practitioner. The position works closely with pulmonary physicians to manage sleep patients and provides care across the inpatient and outpatient phases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sleep patients and deliver comprehensive, individualized care in collaboration with the pulmonologist, using evidence to guide practice interventions.
• Enhance and implement optimal patient care, evaluate compliance and provide consultation to physicians, the healthcare team, patients and families.
• Educate patients and families using teaching theories and appropriate strategies.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Manager and Executive Director of the service line to lead change, advocate for pulmonary patients and help with quality measures.
• Take part in multi-disciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Reconcile patient discharge medications and make mandatory phone calls to discharged patients to monitor care.
• Participate in research activities suited to education and experience.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and an accredited Advanced Practice nursing program (ARNP or CNS).
• Current Florida ARNP license.
• At least 2 years of cardiovascular critical-care hospital experience.
• Expertise in cardiovascular nursing and evidence-based interventions, with critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Able to mentor nurses and lead teams in a dynamic environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull/push up to 40 lbs; work in a stressful environment.

Required skills

• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, including attendance at new employee orientation.
• TB/PPD surveillance program participation.
• Maintenance of required professional licensing and certification.
