Annuities Manager / Senior Manager – Life Actuarial

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Life Actuarial Practice is looking for an experienced Annuities Manager with 5+ years of experience in the annuities sector. The role leads annuity product initiatives and drives growth in the annuities business, with a hybrid arrangement and locations in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Hartford, NYC, Seattle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex annuity analyses covering product development, rate setting, assumption benchmarking, hedging and valuation.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and ensure their satisfaction.
• Ensure technical accuracy and integrity in your own work and in the work of junior staff.
• Produce executive-level management reports and present findings to senior leaders, clients and executives.
• Build an industry network, conduct market research and foster knowledge sharing.
• Support the professional growth of junior staff and promote a collaborative, performance-driven team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g. FSA, MAAA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with annuity products, preferably hands-on pricing, product development and/or inforce management.
• ASA or FSA credential preferred.
• Knowledge of the annuity market, key players, product development trends and regulatory changes.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple workstreams with minimal oversight, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Financial modeling systems or open-source scripting languages such as Moody's AXIS, FIS Insurance Risk Suite (formerly Prophet), R and Python are valuable.

• Base salary range of $100k to $195k, depending on experience, skills, location and certifications.
