Animal Research Technician

About the role

The Animal Research Technician supports study coordinators and researchers at Clinvet NY, a global veterinary CRO. The role combines routine laboratory tasks, advanced technical procedures, and daily animal care to ensure high‑quality research and animal welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with study activities and technical procedures following established protocols, including animal handling, specimen collection, and data recording.
• Provide comprehensive animal care: administer medications, manage specialized diets, deliver pre‑ and post‑operative care, and maintain clean, sanitized housing.
• Transport, receive, and ship animals as required while ensuring compliance with USDA and AAALAC standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 3 years lab‑animal experience, or associate degree in animal science with 2 years experience, or bachelor’s degree with 1 year experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for an 8‑hour shift, and perform cleaning tasks involving animal waste.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work safely around animals and equipment.
