Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring an Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager. The manager runs the day-to-day operations of the Anatomic Pathology Department, ensuring services meet the hospital's mission, scope and objectives, and works closely with the pathology team to keep quality and efficiency high.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staffing, productivity and inventory, and schedule qualified, licensed staff according to service needs
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, The Joint Commission, Florida Department of Health and other regulatory standards
• Monitor pathology and histology operations daily, oversee internal audits, external assessments, proficiency programs, document control, competency assessments and training
• Plan and develop departmental goals, evaluate and select new technology, and operate within budget
• Identify training needs, design training programs, and recommend improvements and best practices
• Analyze data, track quality deviations, investigate non-conformances and write exception documents
• Lead staff, encourage development, and serve on hospital committees as requested

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in a related science field; Master's degree preferred
• Completion of a Histology program
• At least five years of experience in anatomical pathology
• Florida Histology Supervisor license or eligibility, to be obtained within 6 months of employment

Required skills

• Knowledge of Joint Commission, CAP and AABB accreditation standards
• Knowledge of federal and state clinical laboratory regulations
• Pathology/histology quality and IT knowledge for equipment and information system maintenance and validation
