Analytical Technician - Catalyst R&D

About the role

BASF's Catalysts division, which develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts and process catalysts, is hiring an Analytical Technician for its Refining Catalyst business unit (EV/RR) in Attapulgus, GA. The role supports research, development and testing of FCC catalysts and works closely with R&D staff to generate data.

Key responsibilities

• Run R&D samples on gas chromatographs and SEM
• Support lab-unit operations involving online gas chromatography
• Work with the R&D team to plan and prioritize analytical tasks
• Maintain and troubleshoot assigned instruments and keep accurate records in the LIMS system
• Create standard operating procedures as needed and follow BASF safety practices

Required profile

• BS in Chemistry or related science, or associate degree with 1 year of applicable experience, or high school diploma with 3+ years of experience
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, analytical methods and instrumentation
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lb and climb ladders and stairs
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
