Ambulatory RN Manager - Park Cities

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring an Ambulatory RN Manager for its Park Cities location in Dallas, Texas. The role works under limited supervision of the department Chairman or Director and combines clinical and managerial functions in a general or specialized patient care area.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Medical Director, faculty and staff to meet health system goals on productivity, access, quality and patient experience.
• Manage daily clinical operations in line with health system policies and guidelines, and define roles for licensed nurses, technologists and CMOAs involved in patient care.
• Develop clinic budgets, complete payroll editing and attendance records, and identify cost-saving ideas.
• Review and revise nursing assignments, schedules and staffing plans, and make hiring decisions for nursing personnel.
• Oversee new employee orientation, mentor staff, conduct performance reviews and handle complaints.
• Provide direct patient care or act as charge nurse when needed, and promote professional growth of nursing staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BSN) from an NLN-approved nursing program.
• 5 years of experience as a registered nurse and 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Current Texas RN license upon hire.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an office setting with possible exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.

Required skills

• Establishment and management of an operating budget.
• Basic computer skills and strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to develop and recommend policies and procedures for patient care and operations.
