Alcohol & Drug Outpatient Counselor

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Health System at Lutheran Hospital as an Alcohol & Drug Outpatient Counselor. You will provide assessment, planning and counseling services for patients with substance use disorders, focusing on intensive outpatient group therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assessment, planning and implementation of counseling and education services for substance abuse rehabilitation patients.
• Provide assigned patients with counseling case management.
• Systematically assess patients' coping mechanisms in collaboration with patients and families.
• Utilize appropriate teaching methods and referrals to meet patient and family educational needs.
• Coordinate discharge planning and readiness with the care team.
• Conduct intensive outpatient group therapy sessions four days per week and document patient progress.

Required profile

• Master's degree.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
• At least one year of experience in human behavior, including individual and group psychotherapy, diagnostic formulation and psychological testing.

Required skills

• EPIC experience.
