AIx Field Service Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an AIx Field Service Engineer to serve as the primary contact for digital tools at customer sites. You will support semiconductor and advanced display equipment, drive continuous improvement of digital solutions, and collaborate with global teams to solve complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Identify improvement opportunities for digital tools and act as the main point of contact for customer‑site digital solutions.
• Explain difficult or sensitive problems internally, building consensus with teams and customers.
• Support complex issues by leveraging data analytics and multiple information sources.
• Manage model propagation and configure dashboards for monitoring.
• Monitor short‑ and long‑term signal trends.
• Serve as the primary contact for all digital tool issues on‑site and with headquarters.
• Mentor teammates on troubleshooting methodologies and new tool adoption.
• Apply BKM modeling techniques to enhance solution quality.

Required profile

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in your discipline with a willingness to broaden capabilities.
• Familiarity with Applied Materials’ digital products, equipment, and fab operations.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply them to daily work.
• Informal leadership – providing guidance to newer team members without formal supervisory duties.
• Strong problem‑solving skills using technical experience, judgment, and established precedents.
