Aircraft/Aerospace Liaison Engineer

About the role

The Aircraft/Aerospace Liaison Engineer will support heavy‑maintenance base operations at aircraft MRO facilities, providing technical guidance and engineering authorizations for structural and system issues.

Key responsibilities

• Issue Engineering Authorizations and technical dispositions for structural damage exceeding published limits, including sheet‑metal and composite repairs.
• Perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs and develop typical repair manuals.
• Provide work deviation authorizations, interpret service documents and Engineering Orders, and recommend repair versus replacement options.
• Assist base maintenance with aircraft system troubleshooting and attend daily production and pre‑induction meetings.
• Coordinate with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional actions, monitor trends, and develop corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical aviation discipline, preferably with aircraft, airline, or MRO engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication, investigative and problem‑solving abilities, and self‑motivation.

Required skills

• Structural analysis for aircraft repairs.
• Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
• Aircraft system troubleshooting.
