AI Solutions Consultant
Opus AI Technologies · Austin
Job description
About the role
Opus AI Technologies, an Austin, Texas AI company building an agentic AI platform for regulated industries such as insurers, health systems and financial institutions, is hiring an AI Solutions Consultant. Consultants join after the sale and stay until the workflow is live, working in a delivery squad with a Project Manager, AI Workflow Engineers and a Business Analyst. The role is based in Austin, Texas, with remote work considered for exceptional US-based candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and define the target-state workflow architecture, including where agents act, where humans review, exception and escalation paths and auditability.
- Define integration points across client systems (APIs, data sources, document repositories, identity, cloud infrastructure).
- Set success criteria and evaluation approach before the build starts.
- Build the business case (cycle time, cost per transaction, error and rework rates, throughput) and hand the Project Manager the metrics needed for baselining.
- Act as the trusted technical adviser to the client, run demonstrations focused on business results and bridge the gap between IT and Operations.
- Give technical direction to client teams and Workflow Engineers, serve as escalation point for complex problems, maintain design decision logs and interface definitions, and turn recurring architectural choices into reusable patterns.
Required profile
- 5+ years in solutions consulting, technical consulting, solutions architecture or technical business analysis.
- Proven post-sales experience delivering enterprise clients, not just pre-sales.
- Background in workflow automation, distributed systems or AI/ML-driven platforms; regulated industry experience (financial services, insurance, healthcare, government) is a strong plus.
- Executive presence, steady under scepticism, and fluent across client engineers, operations leads and executives.
- Must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not offered.
Required skills
- Understanding of LLM capabilities, prompting and agent patterns, retrieval, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, hallucination and drift.
- Able to discuss APIs, webhooks, data pipelines and integration architecture without needing an engineer present.
- Requirements engineering: turning a vague use case into a technical specification and sequence diagram.
- Working understanding of security and compliance constraints in enterprise deployments.
What we offer
- Direct influence on the product roadmap and joint delivery with consulting partners.
- A path toward principal architect or practice leadership as the US team grows.
- Competitive compensation and founding-team leverage as the US delivery practice scales out of Austin.
