AI Product Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a talented AI Product Engineer to join Bunkerhill Health in San Francisco. Our platform processes over 200,000 CT scans and millions of patient records each year, directly improving outcomes across health systems. You will own product features from design through deployment, working closely with clinicians and engineers to deliver impactful software.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality, maintainable, and scalable backend code with a focus on reliability and readability.
• Take full ownership of product features, from ideation and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and propose improvements to our stack and processes.
• Communicate proactively, set clear timelines, and unblock yourself and teammates when needed.
• Collaborate with clinicians, end users, and non‑technical team members to translate goals into actionable technical solutions.
• Participate in engineering ideation, code reviews, and design discussions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of full‑time software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong ability to learn and adapt to new languages, frameworks, and technologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Genuine interest in applying technology to improve healthcare.
• Comfort using AI coding tools.
