Agent Associate – 4-H Youth Development (Part‑time)

About the role

The University of Maryland Extension is seeking a part‑time Agent Associate to lead and coordinate 4‑H youth development programs in Calvert County. This educator will work directly with volunteers, schools, and community partners to create culturally relevant, experiential learning opportunities that build life skills for youth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate youth education programs, clubs, camps, and after‑school activities.
• Recruit and engage new volunteers and youth participants through active outreach campaigns.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Southern Maryland cluster and University of Maryland departments to enhance program resources.
• Maintain partnerships with schools, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Report progress and outcomes to the Maryland 4‑H Program Leader and Area Extension Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, social or natural science, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience delivering positive youth development or educational programs.
• Proven ability to teach and engage underserved youth and adults in community settings.
• Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating community education initiatives.
• Direct experience working with schools, after‑school programs, or similar community organizations.
