Advanced Welding Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shifts

About the role

Dauch Corporation, a driveline and metal forming supplier for the global automotive industry, is hiring an Advanced Operator Welding for the 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role covers setting up and supporting all machines in the Machine Centers area, and includes coordination of customer and supplier activities, CNC programming and maintenance coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support and set up all machines in the Machine Centers area
• Coordinate customer and supplier containment activities
• Set up two technologies within the established time study
• Create and install CNC programs and coordinate setup activities using the department schedule
• Take part in machine runoffs and maintenance activities, including performing routine maintenance tasks
• Develop plans to meet budget targets (CIMS) and take part in the budgeting process
• Take part in program and cell launches of new products (prototypes)
• Lead and take part in the CI process, lead the cell on quality process assurance and lead problem-solving teams
• Define autonomous maintenance activities such as daily pre-operation inspections
• Share team knowledge, contribute to Poka-Yoke and equipment design where applicable, and identify machining speeds and feeds
• Lead sort activities in-house or at customer sites and troubleshoot maintenance repairs

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with courses in industrial or mechanical technology, industrial maintenance or post-secondary technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience
• Three to five years of experience in machine technology/operations and routine maintenance
• Career Readiness Certificate
